The PowerPacT B-Frame series is the factory-designated upgrade for legacy F-Frame breakers. The BJA36015 directly replaces the older 15A FA36015 and FH36015 models, fitting into the exact same I-Line panelboard mounting space.
What does the "J" in the BJA36015 catalog number signify?
The "J" indicates the breaker's high interrupting capacity tier. In the PowerPacT B-Frame family, the J-tier provides 100kA at 240VAC and 65kA at 480VAC, which is a higher fault current rating than the standard D-tier or G-tier alternatives.
How are the line and load side connections configured on the BJA36015?
This breaker features a factory-installed I-Line stab connection on the line side, which presses directly onto the panelboard bus. The load side is equipped with standard mechanical lugs that accept 14 AWG to 2/0 AWG aluminum or copper conductors.
Can the BJA36015 be DIN-rail mounted in a control panel?
No. While unit-mount PowerPacT B-Frame breakers can be clipped onto a 35mm DIN rail, the BJA36015 is built with a proprietary I-Line line-side connection. It can only be installed in Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards.
What are the instantaneous magnetic trip thresholds for this 15A breaker?
The fixed magnetic trip unit on the BJA36015 has a hold parameter of 400A and is calibrated to instantaneously trip at a threshold of 600A.
Does the BJA36015 support field-installable electrical accessories?
Yes. Unlike some older breaker families, the PowerPacT B-Frame supports one-click, field-installable accessories. Electricians can easily add auxiliary switches, shunt trips, or undervoltage releases by installing them directly under the front accessory cover.
Is the BJA36015 rated for 80 percent or 100 percent continuous current?
The BJA36015 is standard rated, meaning it is approved for continuous loads up to 80 percent of its 15A nominal rating. Continuous loads are defined as maximum current continuing for three hours or more.
Does the BJA36015 provide equipment ground fault protection?
No. The BJA36015 features a standard thermal-magnetic trip unit that only provides long-time overload and instantaneous short-circuit protection. It does not include built-in ground fault or arc fault protection circuitry.

Expedited Shipments
