Unit mount breakers are designed to be mechanically fastened to a backpan with screws, utilizing feed-thru lug connections on both the line and load ends. In contrast, I-Line breakers plug directly onto a proprietary panelboard busbar on the line side.
Can the HDL36015 directly replace a legacy FAL36015 circuit breaker?
The PowerPacT H-Frame is the modern replacement for discontinued F-Frame breakers like the FAL36015. However, because the physical dimensions and mounting footprints differ, you will need a retrofit adapter kit or backpan modifications to complete the upgrade.
What replacement lug kit does this breaker use?
This model uses the AL150HD mechanical lug kit. Each kit includes three lugs that accommodate copper or aluminum conductors from 14 AWG to 3/0 AWG.
Is this breaker rated for reverse feeding?
Yes. Because this unit mount breaker features a standard fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit without directional restrictions, it can be safely reverse fed in backfeed applications.
Can this molded case circuit breaker be used in DC systems?
Yes. The thermal-magnetic trip mechanism allows this breaker to safely interrupt DC faults. It carries a 20kA interrupting rating at 250VDC, making it suitable for battery systems and DC control panels.
Are the overcurrent and short-circuit trip points adjustable on this breaker?
No, this breaker is equipped with a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. If your application requires field-adjustable settings for selective coordination, you must select a PowerPacT model equipped with a Micrologic electronic trip unit.
Does this breaker support field-installable accessories?
Yes, the front cover can be safely removed to install standard internal accessories, including auxiliary contacts, overcurrent trip switches, undervoltage releases, and shunt trips.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
