The A1B220 is a legacy long-body breaker manufactured specifically for older Square D NA1B panelboards. It is not compatible with standard QO or Homeline load centers.
Can I replace an A1B220 with a modern QOB circuit breaker?
A modern QOB220 breaker cannot be installed directly into an NA1B panelboard without a specialized retrofit mounting kit. The A1B220 serves as an exact-fit replacement that bolts on without requiring additional hardware.
What wire sizes are accepted by the load lugs on the A1B220?
The included load-side lugs accept 14 AWG to 8 AWG wire. The terminals are rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors.
How does the thermal-magnetic trip unit on the A1B220 function?
The breaker uses a fixed thermal element for long-time (L) overload protection and a fixed magnetic element for instantaneous (I) short-circuit protection. Neither the thermal nor the magnetic trip points are adjustable.
Can the A1B220 be used in DC applications?
Yes, in addition to its standard AC ratings, the A1B220 is rated for use in 48VDC electrical systems.
How can I identify if the A1B220 has tripped?
The A1B220 features the Square D Visi-Trip indicator. When the breaker trips due to an overload or short circuit, a highly visible red indicator appears to help quickly locate the faulted circuit in the panelboard.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.

Expedited Shipments

Although these breakers are refurbished they work great. It beats having to change the whole panel because of one breaker.
