This bolt-on breaker is designed specifically for legacy Square D NEHB panelboards. It is not compatible with modern NF panelboards or standard QO load centers.
What is the ground-fault trip threshold for this EPD breaker?
The EHB14020EPD features a 30mA ground-fault trip level. As an Equipment Protection Device (EPD), it is designed to protect machinery and heat trace cables from damaging leakage currents, not for 5mA personnel shock protection.
How is the ground-fault sensing powered on the EHB14020EPD?
The breaker includes a pigtail neutral wire. This pigtail must be securely connected to the panelboard neutral bus during installation to power the internal electronic ground-fault sensing circuitry.
What is the modern replacement for the EHB14020EPD?
The EHB series and NEHB panelboards are legacy products. If you are upgrading the entire panelboard, the modern equivalent is the EDB14020EPD, which requires a Square D NF panelboard. However, EDB breakers will not retrofit into older NEHB panels.
Can the EHB14020EPD be used as a standard GFCI for personnel protection?
No. This breaker is classified as an Equipment Protection Device (EPD) with a 30mA trip threshold. It does not meet the 5mA Class A GFCI requirements needed for personnel shock protection.

Expedited Shipments
