No. Square D QO and Homeline breakers are not interchangeable. QO breakers have a 3/4-inch format, while Homeline breakers use a 1-inch format. You must use this breaker in a compatible QO load center or NQ panelboard.
What panelboards are compatible with the QO120VHCAFI?
This plug-on breaker is designed for use in Square D QO load centers and NQ panelboards. It is also backward compatible with legacy NQOD panelboards.
What is the difference between the QO120VHCAFI and the QO120CAFI?
The VH in the QO120VHCAFI catalog number indicates a higher interrupting rating of 22kAIC at 120/240VAC. The standard QO120CAFI has a 10kAIC rating.
Does the QO120VHCAFI require a pigtail neutral connection?
Yes. This breaker features a pigtail neutral, meaning it includes a coiled white wire that must be manually routed and terminated at the panel neutral bar. It is not a Plug-On Neutral (PON) breaker.
How do I wire the load neutral on this CAFI breaker?
The load neutral wire from your branch circuit must be terminated directly to the designated load neutral terminal on the breaker itself, not the panel neutral bar. The breaker pigtail wire then connects to the panel neutral bar to complete the circuit.
What does Combination Arc Fault (CAFI) mean on this breaker?
A Combination Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (CAFI) provides protection against both parallel arcs (arcing between hot and neutral or ground) and series arcs (arcing along a single broken conductor). This dual protection is required by the National Electrical Code (NEC) for many residential living spaces.
Does this breaker include ground fault (GFCI) protection?
No. The QO120VHCAFI is a Combination Arc Fault (CAFI) breaker only. If you need both arc fault and ground fault protection in a single unit, you will need a Dual Function (DF) breaker, such as the QO120VHDF.
Does this breaker feature a tripped indicator?
Yes. It includes the Square D Visi-Trip indicator. When the breaker trips, the handle moves to a center position and a highly visible red indicator appears in a window on the breaker case, making it easy to identify the tripped circuit.
