This breaker is designed to fit Square D QO and Homeline load centers that accept QOM2 frame main breakers. It bolts directly into the main breaker provisions of these panels.
What does the 1021 suffix indicate on this Square D breaker?
The 1021 suffix means this unit includes a factory-installed 120/240VAC shunt trip. This accessory allows the breaker to be tripped remotely by applying a voltage signal to the shunt trip coil.
How is the shunt trip accessory operated?
The internal shunt trip requires an external 120VAC or 240VAC control signal. When the control circuit applies voltage to the accessory leads, it mechanically forces the breaker to open and disconnect power.
Can this QOM2 frame breaker be installed in standard branch slots?
No. The QOM2200VH1021 is exclusively designed as a main breaker. It will not fit into standard QO or Homeline branch breaker positions and must be installed in the dedicated main breaker mounting area.
Does this breaker include Visi-Trip indication?
Yes, like most Square D QO and QOM breakers, it features a Visi-Trip indicator. When the breaker trips due to an overcurrent, short circuit, or a shunt trip signal, a red indicator appears in the window to help quickly identify the tripped status.
