Delivering high-capacity circuit protection, the Square D PXF362500 is a 2500A electronic trip MCCB. This 3-pole, bolt-on breaker mounts into Square D QED switchboards and motor control centers. It serves as a reliable component before transitioning to the R-Frame RLF36250U31A replacement. This 80% rated breaker features a Micrologic trip unit with adjustable long-time, short-time, and instantaneous (LSI) settings. It provides a 100kAIC rating at 480VAC and true RMS sensing.

Product FAQs
6 answers
What type of enclosures are compatible with the PXF362500?
This 2500A bolt-on breaker is specifically designed for installation in Square D QED Switchboards and Square D Motor Control Centers.
Can I install the PXF362500 in a standard Square D I-Line panelboard?
No, the PXF362500 is a bolt-on circuit breaker and does not have the plug-on jaw mechanism required for I-Line panelboards. It must be bolted directly to the bus in supported switchboards or motor control centers.
What is the difference between the PXF362500 and the PXF362500G?
The PXF362500 features an LSI (Long-Time, Short-Time, Instantaneous) electronic trip unit. The PXF362500G includes those same functions but adds integrated ground fault (G) protection to create an LSIG trip unit. If your system requires ground fault protection, you will need the G-suffix version.
How does the electronic LSI trip unit benefit system coordination?
The solid-state LSI trip unit allows you to independently adjust the long-time, short-time, and instantaneous pickup and delay settings. This precise adjustability helps electricians achieve accurate selective coordination, ensuring that a fault trips only the breaker closest to the issue rather than the main breaker.
How does the interrupting rating (AIC) scale with system voltage on this breaker?
The PXF362500 is built for high-fault environments, but its maximum fault current capability decreases as system voltage increases. It provides 125kA of protection at 240VAC, 100kA at 480VAC, and 65kA at 600VAC. You must ensure the available fault current at your installation point does not exceed these values for your specific voltage.
Why is proper adjustment of the LSI settings critical for safety?
If the Long-Time, Short-Time, and Instantaneous settings are not properly calibrated to match the connected load and conductor ampacity, the breaker may fail to trip during an overload or short circuit. Proper calibration by a qualified professional ensures the breaker protects the wiring from overheating and potential fire hazards.
