No. The QOU30001 is a non-automatic molded case switch. It functions solely as a manual disconnect device and does not contain a thermal-magnetic tripping mechanism. It must be protected by an upstream circuit breaker or fuse of an equivalent rating.
What does the 10kAIC rating mean for a non-automatic switch?
Although the QOU30001 does not trip automatically, it is UL Listed to safely withstand a short-circuit current of up to 10,000 amperes (10kA) at 240VAC, provided it is protected by an upstream overcurrent device with an equal or greater interrupting rating.
