This F-frame unit-mount circuit breaker is designed for installation in compatible Square D motor control centers and switchboards.
What is the difference between the FHP36050 and an FAL36050 breaker?
While both are 50A, 3-pole F-frame breakers, they differ in interrupting capacity and termination. The FHP36050 is a high-interrupting breaker with lugs on the OFF end only, designed to bolt directly to a bus on the line side. The FAL36050 is a standard-interrupting breaker equipped with lugs on both the line and load ends.
Does the FHP36050 come with lugs on both the line and load sides?
No, the FHP36050 is configured with lugs on the OFF end (load side) only. The ON end (line side) is designed to be bolted directly to bus bars. The included load-side lugs accept 14 to 1/0 AWG copper wire or 12 to 1/0 AWG aluminum wire.
Is the FHP36050 compatible with I-Line panelboards?
No, the FHP36050 is a unit-mount, bolt-on circuit breaker. It is not designed for I-Line panelboards, which require breakers with specialized plug-on connectors on the line side.
Can the trip settings on the FHP36050 be adjusted in the field?
No, this breaker features fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip functions. The overload and short-circuit trip settings are factory-calibrated and cannot be modified in the field.
Can this breaker be used in direct current (DC) systems?
Yes, the FHP36050 is rated for DC applications. It can safely interrupt up to 250VDC with a 10kA interrupting rating.
What is the physical frame size of the FHP36050?
The FHP36050 is built on the Square D 100A F-frame. Even though it is a 50A breaker, it shares the same physical dimensions and mounting footprint as other F-frame breakers up to 100 amps.

Free Shipping Policy

Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
