7 answersCan I use the HOM120AFIC in a Plug-on Neutral (PoN) load center?
Yes. While the HOM120AFIC features a pigtail neutral, it can be installed in a Plug-on Neutral Homeline panel by wiring the pigtail directly to the neutral bar. However, if you prefer a breaker without a pigtail for a PoN panel, you will need the Plug-on Neutral version, catalog number HOM120PCAFIC.
Is the HOM120AFIC a Combination Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (CAFCI)?
Yes. The HOM120AFIC is a Combination AFCI, meaning it provides protection against both parallel and series arcing. It replaces older branch feeder AFCI models like the HOM120AFI.
Will the HOM120AFIC fit in a Square D QO load center?
No. Homeline breakers have a 1 inch per pole format and are only compatible with Square D Homeline load centers. QO panels require QO series breakers, which use a 3/4 inch per pole format.
Can I terminate two aluminum wires on the HOM120AFIC?
No. The terminal is rated for a single 14-8 AWG aluminum or copper wire, or up to two 14-10 AWG copper wires. It is not rated for dual aluminum conductors.
How is the neutral connected on the HOM120AFIC?
This breaker features a pigtail neutral connection. The coiled white wire attached to the breaker must be routed and secured to the neutral bus bar in the load center to power the internal AFCI circuitry.
How do I test the AFCI function on the HOM120AFIC?
Once installed and energized, press the test button on the front of the breaker. The breaker should trip immediately, moving the handle to the center tripped position. Square D recommends testing AFCI breakers monthly to ensure proper operation.
What does the LI trip function indicate on the HOM120AFIC?
The LI designation means the breaker uses a thermal magnetic trip unit with Long-Time (thermal) protection for overloads and Instantaneous (magnetic) protection for short circuits, operating alongside its electronic arc fault detection.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
