Is the Square D FAL26035 still manufactured or has it been replaced?

The FAL series is a legacy F-Frame breaker. While it remains highly sought after for maintaining and servicing existing electrical systems, Schneider Electric has transitioned to the newer PowerPacT series. The PowerPacT H-Frame (such as the HDL26035) is the modern equivalent for this unit.

What equipment is compatible with the FAL26035 circuit breaker?

This unit-mount F-Frame breaker is designed to be installed in compatible Square D standalone enclosures, switchboards, and legacy panelboards that are configured to accept unit-mount F-Frame breakers. Because it features feed-thru lugs on both the line and load sides, it is not compatible with I-Line panelboards that require plug-on connections.

Can the FAL26035 be reverse fed?

Yes. Standard Square D FAL thermal-magnetic circuit breakers are not marked with specific line and load designations, which means they are suitable for reverse feeding applications in your distribution system.

Is this breaker suitable for use in DC circuits?

Yes. In addition to its AC ratings, the FAL26035 is rated for use in direct current applications. It provides an interrupting capacity of 10kA at 250VDC, making it suitable for industrial DC control circuits and motor protection.

What type of wire can be used with the FAL26035 lugs?

The factory-installed feed-thru lugs are dual-rated for both copper and aluminum conductors. They accept 14 to 1/0 AWG copper (Cu) or 12 to 1/0 AWG aluminum (Al) wire. Always refer to the breaker faceplate for the exact torque specifications during installation.

How does the thermal-magnetic trip unit in the FAL26035 operate?

The breaker uses a fixed thermal-magnetic trip mechanism to provide two types of protection. The thermal element provides long-time (L) protection against sustained overloads, while the magnetic element provides instantaneous (I) protection to quickly clear severe short circuits.
