Current limiting breakers restrict peak let-through current and energy during a fault. This shields downstream equipment from severe thermal and magnetic stress during high-level short circuits.
What wire sizes and materials do the standard lugs accept?
The factory lugs accommodate 14 to 1/0 AWG copper conductors or 12 to 1/0 AWG aluminum conductors.
Is the FCL frame still the standard for new Square D installations?
No. The FCL is a legacy F-Frame component primarily used to maintain or expand existing equipment. For new installations, Square D has superseded this line with the PowerPact H-Frame series.
Does this breaker plug onto a busbar?
No, it is a unit-mount breaker with feed-thru connections. It must be bolted directly to the mounting surface and hardwired, unlike plug-on or I-Line panelboard breakers.
How does the interrupting rating change depending on the system voltage?
While it provides 65kAIC at its maximum 480V AC rating, the interrupting capacity increases to 100kAIC when applied to a 240V AC system.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
