No. The QOB series features a bolt-on connection designed for commercial NQ and NQOD panelboards. For a standard plug-on QO load center, you need the QO115VHCAFI.
Will this breaker fit in Square D NF or I-Line panelboards?
No. The QOB115VHCAFI is specifically designed for NQ and legacy NQOD panelboards. It will not mount in NF panelboards, which require EDB series breakers, or I-Line panelboards.
What type of arc fault protection does this breaker provide?
As a Combination Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (CAFI), it protects against both parallel arcs (line-to-neutral or line-to-ground) and series arcs (loose connections or broken wires) in the branch circuit.
Does the QOB115VHCAFI provide ground fault (GFCI) protection?
No. This model is strictly a Combination Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (CAFI). If you require both arc fault and ground fault protection on the same circuit, you will need a Dual Function (DF) breaker.
What does the "VH" designation in the catalog number indicate?
The "VH" indicates that this breaker has a higher interrupting rating of 22,000 Amps (22kAIC) at 120VAC. Standard QOB breakers without the "VH" typically have a 10kAIC rating.
How is the pigtail neutral on this breaker installed?
The coiled white pigtail wire must be routed and connected directly to the neutral bus bar in the panelboard. This connection is required to power the internal arc fault detection circuitry.
Can I use this breaker on a multi-wire branch circuit with a shared neutral?
No. Because it is a 1-pole CAFI breaker, it requires a dedicated neutral for the branch circuit it protects. Sharing a neutral will cause an imbalance and result in nuisance tripping.
What is the standard 10kAIC version of this breaker?
If your panelboard only requires a 10kAIC interrupting rating, the direct equivalent is the QOB115CAFI.
