The BD1520 is a CTL (Circuit Total Limiting) tandem breaker with a rejection clip, designed for panels with notched bus bars. The BRD1520 is a Non-CTL tandem breaker without a rejection clip, intended for older panels that do not restrict tandem placement.
Can I use the BD1520 to replace an older Challenger tandem breaker?
Yes, the Eaton BD1520 is the UL listed replacement for Challenger Type A tandem breakers in panels that accept CTL breakers.
What wire material is the BD1520 rated to accept?
The box lugs on this breaker are rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors ranging from 14 AWG to 4 AWG.
Does the BD1520 require a specific type of bus bar for installation?
Yes. Because it is a CTL breaker equipped with a rejection tab, it must be installed on a notched bus bar within a compatible Eaton BR, Bryant, Westinghouse, or Challenger load center.
Are the 15A and 20A circuits on this tandem breaker independent?
Yes, the BD1520 provides two independent circuits from a single 1-inch pole space. If one circuit experiences an overload or short circuit, it will trip independently without affecting the other circuit.
Will this breaker fit in a Square D or Siemens panel?
No. The BD1520 is designed exclusively for Eaton Type BR, Bryant, Challenger, and Westinghouse load centers. It is not interchangeable with Square D Homeline, Siemens, or other manufacturer panels.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
