6 answersCan I use the Q2020 for a 240V circuit or a multi-wire branch circuit?
No. Both circuits on this tandem breaker connect to a single bus bar stab, meaning they pull from the same phase. Wiring a multi-wire branch circuit (MWBC) to it will overload the shared neutral, and it cannot supply 240V equipment.
Will the Q2020 fit into any available space in my panel?
No. This is a CTL (Circuit Total Limiting) breaker equipped with a physical rejection clip. It will only seat properly in panel slots specifically notched to accept tandems. You must check your panel wiring diagram for approved tandem locations.
Is this the correct replacement for a Murray MP2020?
Yes. Siemens acquired Murray, and the Q2020 is the official replacement for the legacy Murray MP2020 tandem breaker.
What is the difference between the Q2020 and Q2020NC?
The Q2020 includes a CTL rejection clip to prevent installation in non-rated panel slots. The Q2020NC is the non-CTL version, which lacks the clip and is designed strictly for older panels manufactured before 1968.
Does this tandem breaker require two panel spaces?
No. It installs into a standard 1-inch single-pole space but provides two independent circuits. This design is ideal for freeing up room in a crowded load center.
Is the Q2020 rated for HVAC equipment or switching duty?
Yes. It is HACR rated for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. It is also SWD rated, allowing it to be used for switching duty to control fluorescent lighting circuits.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
