This breaker requires four 1-inch spaces total. It occupies two spaces on the left side and two spaces on the right side of the load center bus.
What is the difference between a standard BR breaker and a BJ breaker?
Standard two-pole BR breakers occupy two panel spaces, while two-pole BJ breakers are wider and require four spaces across the panel bus. BJ frames are typically used for higher amperage applications from 150A to 225A.
Do I need a hold-down kit when using the BJ2175 as a main breaker?
Yes. If you are installing this breaker as a back-fed main in a Main Lug Only (MLO) load center, safety codes require a hold-down screw kit, such as the Eaton BJHDS, to secure the breaker to the panel bus.
Can I use this breaker to replace older Bryant or Westinghouse models?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Cutler-Hammer, Bryant, and Westinghouse breaker lines. The BJ2175 is the direct functional replacement for legacy Bryant and Westinghouse BJ2175 breakers.
