Is the Cutler-Hammer CAH3200 still manufactured, or is there a modern replacement?
The CAH3200 is an obsolete legacy breaker. For modern replacements, it crosses over to the Eaton FD3200 or equivalent ED-frame circuit breakers. However, the original CAH3200 is often sourced for exact like-for-like replacements in existing infrastructure to avoid retrofit modifications.
What wire sizes and materials are accepted by the lugs on the CAH3200?
The factory lugs accept 6 AWG to 350 kcmil wire and are rated for both copper and aluminum conductors. When using aluminum wire, an approved joint compound is recommended.
What type of trip unit does the CAH3200 utilize?
It features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit that provides standard long-time and instantaneous (LI) overcurrent protection. Both the thermal and magnetic trip points are fixed and cannot be adjusted in the field.
