7 answersWhat panels are compatible with the CHFGFT120?
This breaker is designed exclusively for Eaton and Cutler-Hammer Type CH load centers, which utilize a 3/4-inch per pole spacing. It will not fit Type BR panels or other 1-inch format load centers.
What is the difference between the CHFGFT120 and the CHGFT120?
The CHFGFT120 is part of the newer CHF series, which includes a mechanical trip flag indicator to visually confirm when the breaker has tripped. The older CHGFT120 model does not feature this visual trip flag.
How is the neutral connection wired on this breaker?
The CHFGFT120 features a pigtail neutral connection. The coiled white pigtail wire must be connected directly to the neutral bar in the load center to power the internal circuitry and ensure proper ground fault detection.
What level of ground fault protection does this breaker provide?
It provides Class A ground fault protection. The breaker is designed to trip when a ground fault of 5mA is detected, providing personnel protection against electrical shock.
Does the CHFGFT120 provide arc fault protection?
No, this is a dedicated Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) breaker. It does not provide arc fault (AFCI) protection. If dual-function AFCI/GFCI protection is required, a different breaker model must be used.
What wire sizes are accepted by the CHFGFT120 terminals?
The box lugs can accommodate either a single 14-8 AWG copper or aluminum wire, or two 14-10 AWG copper or aluminum wires.
How do you reset the CHFGFT120 after a trip event?
Eaton CHF series breakers feature a Trip to OFF mechanism. Instead of tripping to a middle position, the handle moves directly to the OFF position. This allows for a simple one-step reset by pushing the handle straight back to the ON position.

Expedited Shipments

I needed these breakers for an install - first time using the company. They said they had them in stock. Took over a week to fulfil the order and it was 11 or 12 days before I had my hands on them. Tough on my business. Then when I went return them they hit me with so many fees that I was gonna net under $30 on a $104 order. It's too bad this was my first experience with them. I'll be sure to tell my electricians and project managers to never use this company. Short sighted. They won the battle but lost the war with a potential great long term client.
