Description

Built for standalone mounting, this 40A F-frame breaker includes factory-installed line and load lugs for immediate cable connections. It operates independently of standard panelboard busbars, making it perfect for custom enclosures and machinery control panels. The thermal-magnetic trip unit delivers 14kAIC at 480VAC. Note that this legacy Series C model is replaced by the Power Defense PDG22F0040TFFJ, which requires a retrofit kit for older systems.

What enclosures and panels are compatible with the EHD2040L?

The EHD2040L is an F-frame breaker designed for use in Eaton Series C panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers.

What is the difference between the EHD2040 and the EHD2040L?

The L suffix on the EHD2040L indicates that the breaker comes with factory-installed line and load lugs. Both models share the same physical dimensions and electrical ratings.

What type of wire can be used with the EHD2040L lugs?

The factory-installed lugs on this breaker accept 14-1/0 AWG wire and are rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors.

How is the EHD2040L mounted?

This is a unit-mount, feed-thru breaker. It is designed to be individually bolted or screwed to a backpan or mounting plate, rather than plugging directly onto a panelboard busbar or snapping onto a DIN rail.

Can the EHD2040L be used in DC circuits?

Yes, this thermal-magnetic breaker is rated for use in DC applications up to 250VDC with an interrupting capacity of 10kAIC.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.

Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
