The EL3015RC is an interchangeable current limiter attachment that bolts to the load end of a Motor Circuit Protector (MCP). It provides increased interrupting capacity for the circuit breaker, allowing the combination to handle up to 200,000 A symmetrical at 600 VAC.
How does the EL3015RC coordinate with the attached MCP?
The current limiter is coordinated so that normal short circuits are cleared automatically by the MCP. The EL3015RC only functions to clear rare, unusually high fault currents, preventing damage to the system.
What happens to the circuit breaker if the EL3015RC interrupts a high fault current?
When the current limiter interrupts a severe fault, it magnetically trips the attached MCP. This action opens all three poles of the circuit breaker, preventing single-phase operation and ensuring complete circuit isolation.

Free Shipping Policy
