What is the difference between the GD3040 and the GHB3040 circuit breakers?
While both are 40-amp, 3-pole Series C G-frame breakers, they feature different mounting styles. The GD3040 is a unit-mount breaker designed for cable-in, cable-out installations. The GHB3040 is a bolt-on breaker designed to mount directly to the busbar in Eaton panelboards.
Is the GD3040 circuit breaker suitable for DC voltage systems?
Yes, this breaker is rated for DC applications up to 250VDC with a 10 kAIC interrupting rating. Standard installation for 250VDC systems requires wiring two poles of the breaker in series.
What wire sizes are compatible with the standard lugs on the GD3040?
The factory-installed line and load lugs on the GD3040 accept copper or aluminum conductors ranging from 10 AWG to 1/0 AWG.
Does the GD3040 provide adjustable trip settings for selective coordination?
No, the GD3040 is equipped with a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit. Both the long-time (thermal) and instantaneous (magnetic) trip functions are fixed and cannot be field adjusted.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
