This breaker is designed specifically for Eaton, Cutler-Hammer, and legacy Bryant Type BR load centers. It cannot be installed in Type CH panels or load centers from other manufacturers.
How many panel spaces does the BR130ST occupy?
While it is a 1-pole breaker, the factory-installed shunt trip mechanism adds 1 inch to the overall width. As a result, the BR130ST requires two 1-inch spaces in a Type BR load center.
What voltage is needed to activate the shunt trip coil?
The shunt trip mechanism on the BR130ST requires a 120VAC signal to activate and open the circuit remotely.
Can a continuous 120VAC signal be applied to the shunt trip?
No. The 120VAC signal used to activate the shunt trip must be momentary. Applying a continuous voltage will overheat and burn out the internal shunt trip coil.
Can I field-install a shunt trip onto a standard BR130 breaker?
No. Shunt trips for Eaton Type BR miniature circuit breakers cannot be field-installed. You must order the BR130ST, which includes the factory-installed shunt trip mechanism.
