This breaker is designed for use in Eaton BR series load centers. It is also backward compatible with legacy Cutler-Hammer BR, Bryant, Westinghouse, and Challenger panels that accept Type BR plug-in breakers.
Does the BRN225GF replace older Eaton or Cutler-Hammer part numbers?
Yes, the BRN225GF is the direct replacement for the legacy catalog number GFCB225. Both are Type BR ground fault breakers with a pigtail neutral connection.
Does this breaker require a plug-on neutral panel?
No, the BRN225GF features a standard pigtail neutral connection. The coiled white wire connects directly to the panel neutral bus bar, meaning it can be installed in standard panels that do not have plug-on neutral capabilities.
What level of ground fault protection does the BRN225GF provide?
This breaker provides Class A personnel protection. It is designed to trip when it detects a ground fault of 5 milliamperes (5mA), protecting people from electrical shock in wet areas like pools, spas, and outdoor circuits.
What type of trip mechanism does this GFCI breaker use?
It features a common trip mechanism. If a ground fault, overload, or short circuit occurs on either pole, both poles will trip simultaneously to completely disconnect power to the circuit.
Can the BRN225GF be used on multi-wire branch circuits?
Yes, it can be used to protect multi-wire branch circuits (shared neutral) or dedicated 2-wire circuits. Note that the breaker's pigtail neutral must be connected to the panel neutral bar even for 2-wire loads, as it powers the ground fault sensing circuitry.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
