This breaker is designed exclusively for use in Eaton and Cutler-Hammer CH series load centers. It requires two 3/4-inch spaces, totaling 1.5 inches in width, and utilizes a plug-on mounting design.
Can I install this breaker in a Cutler-Hammer BR series panel?
No. The CH220EPD is a Type CH breaker with a 3/4-inch per pole width. It will not fit in BR series panels, which require 1-inch wide breakers. You must use a Type CH load center.
What is the difference between this EPD breaker and a standard GFI breaker?
The CH220EPD is an Equipment Protection Device (EPD) that trips at a 30mA ground fault threshold to protect machinery, such as heat trace cables or well pumps. A standard GFI breaker trips at a 4 to 6mA threshold to provide personnel protection.
Does the CH220EPD provide personnel ground fault protection?
No. This breaker provides 30mA equipment protection (GFEP) to prevent damage to machinery. It does not provide the 4 to 6mA Class A ground fault protection required by the NEC for personnel safety in wet areas.
How is the neutral connected on the CH220EPD?
This breaker features a pigtail neutral connection. The coiled white pigtail wire must be connected directly to the neutral bus bar in the load center to ensure the ground fault equipment protection functions correctly.
Is the CH220EPD a direct replacement for older Cutler-Hammer versions?

Free Shipping Policy

Expedited Shipments

When our main breaker frizzed out, the option we were presented with was replacing the entire panel and service due to the type and part - no longer produced for replacement parts. It would be a $6500 replacement.
We'll likely have to do it at some point but, for now, the replacement breaker we were able to source from Superbreakers (with a $25 warranty) was $5900 less expensive. installation ran a few hundred dollars and the tech said the part looked to be in excellent condition and was prepped for install as he would have hoped.
