Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse and Cutler-Hammer molded case circuit breaker lines. The current Eaton FDB2125 is a direct replacement and shares the exact F-Frame footprint as the legacy Westinghouse models.
What is the difference between the FDB2125 and the FD2125 breakers?
The difference is the short circuit interrupting rating. The FDB2125 is a standard interrupting breaker rated at 14kAIC at 480VAC. The FD2125 is the high interrupting version rated at 35kAIC at 480VAC. Both use the same physical Series C F-Frame dimensions.
What enclosures and panelboards are compatible with the FDB2125?
This bolt-on breaker is designed for installation in Eaton Series C panelboards, switchboards, motor control centers, and dedicated F-Frame enclosures. It requires appropriate bolt-on mounting hardware for busbar connection.
Can the FDB2125 be used in direct current (DC) systems?
Yes, this thermal-magnetic breaker is rated for DC applications up to 250VDC, providing a 10kAIC interrupting capacity for direct current circuits.
What wire sizes and materials do the standard lugs accept?
The factory-installed line and load lugs on the FDB2125 accept 4 AWG through 4/0 AWG conductors. The terminals are rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) wire.
Can I substitute the FDB2125 for an HFD2125?
While both are 2-pole 125A F-Frame breakers with identical physical dimensions, the FDB2125 has a standard 14kAIC rating at 480VAC. The HFD2125 is rated for 65kAIC. You can only substitute the FDB2125 if the calculated available fault current at the panel is 14kA or less.
What type of protection does the LI trip function provide?
The LI designation indicates a thermal-magnetic trip unit with Long-Time (thermal) and Instantaneous (magnetic) protection. The thermal element protects against sustained overloads, while the magnetic element trips immediately during a short circuit. Both settings are fixed on this model.
Are the trip settings adjustable on the FDB2125?
No. The FDB2125 features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit. If you require adjustable trip settings, you will need to upgrade to a breaker with an electronic trip unit.

Expedited Shipments
