6 answersWhat enclosures or panelboards accept the FDB3150 breaker?
While it is built for modern Eaton Series C panelboards, the FDB3150 is also backward compatible with many legacy Cutler-Hammer and Westinghouse distribution panels, switchboards, and motor control centers. It requires an enclosure designed to accept bolt-on F-Frame breakers.
Is the FDB3150 HACR rated for HVAC applications?
Yes. Like all Eaton Series C F-Frame circuit breakers, the FDB3150 carries an HACR rating. This allows it to be used in branch circuits supplying heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
Can the FDB3150 be reverse fed in a panel layout?
Yes. Eaton Series C F-Frame circuit breakers, including the FDB3150, are suitable for reverse feed applications. The line and load connections can be swapped to accommodate specific enclosure wire routing without compromising electrical protection.
Are the trip settings on the Eaton FDB3150 adjustable?
No. This breaker is equipped with a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. The long-time overload and instantaneous short-circuit thresholds are permanently set at the factory and cannot be recalibrated in the field.
How does the FDB3150 compare to the FD3150 and FDC3150?
All three are 150A, 3-pole F-Frame breakers, but their short-circuit interrupting capacities differ. The FDB3150 is rated for 14kAIC at 480VAC. The FD3150 is rated at 35kAIC, and the FDC3150 provides 100kAIC at 480VAC. You must verify the available fault current in your facility before substituting one for another.
Does the FDB3150 provide personnel ground fault protection?
No. This unit provides only standard equipment-level overload and short-circuit protection via its thermal-magnetic trip unit. It does not include Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) electronics for personnel safety.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
