7 answersWhat is the difference between an Eaton BAB2020 and a DNBA2020?
The BAB2020 is a standard two-pole breaker that occupies two spaces on the busbar and provides a common trip for 240V circuits. The DNBA2020 is a tandem, or twin, breaker that occupies only one space but provides two independent 120V circuits.
Can the DNBA2020 be used to power a 240V load?
No. The DNBA2020 provides two separate 120V circuits without a common internal trip mechanism. It is not suitable for 240V loads. You must use a true two-pole breaker with a common trip, such as the BAB2020, for 240V equipment.
Can I use the DNBA2020 to supply a multi-wire branch circuit (MWBC)?
No. Both circuits on a tandem breaker connect to the same phase leg of the panel busbar. Wiring a multi-wire branch circuit to a tandem breaker will overload the shared neutral wire, creating a serious fire hazard.
Can I install this tandem breaker in any Eaton or Cutler-Hammer bolt-on panel?
You must verify your panelboard's wiring diagram before installation. While the DNBA2020 physically fits BAB-style bolt-on panels, your specific panel must be explicitly listed to accept tandem breakers in the desired slot to comply with code requirements.
Is this Eaton breaker an exact replacement for older Westinghouse, Bryant, or Challenger models?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Cutler-Hammer, Westinghouse, Bryant, and Challenger electrical lines. The Eaton DNBA2020 serves as the direct OEM replacement for equivalent legacy tandem bolt-on breakers from these brands.
Does the DNBA2020 provide ground-fault or arc-fault protection?
No. This is a standard miniature circuit breaker for thermal overload and short-circuit protection. It does not contain integrated GFCI or AFCI circuitry.
Do I need to de-energize the panel before installing the DNBA2020?
Yes. Because this breaker features a bolt-on connection, you must physically drive a fastener into the panel busbar during installation. You must completely de-energize the main power to the panel prior to installation to prevent an arc flash or severe shock hazard.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
