Designed for demanding industrial environments, this 3-amp miniature circuit breaker provides excellent branch circuit protection. It is ideal for commercial and marine applications requiring reliable defense against overloads. This three-pole device mounts securely onto standard DIN rail panels and industrial control enclosures. It serves as a drop-in replacement for legacy WMZT3C03 breakers.
What does the "C" in the FAZ-C3/3-NA part number indicate?
The "C" indicates a C-curve trip characteristic. The magnetic trip point is set between 5 and 10 times the rated current, making it ideal for applications with medium inrush currents such as small transformers, lighting, and pilot devices.
Is the Eaton FAZ-C3/3-NA rated for branch circuit protection?
Yes, the FAZ-NA series is UL 489 listed. This means it is fully rated for feeder and branch circuit protection in North America, unlike UL 1077 supplementary protectors.
What accessories are compatible with the Eaton FAZ-C3/3-NA?
The FAZ-NA series supports a variety of field-installable accessories, including auxiliary contacts, bell alarms, shunt trips, padlock hasps, and UL 489 listed bus bar systems.
Can I use this breaker to replace a UL 1077 supplementary protector?
Yes, UL 489 devices like the FAZ-C3/3-NA can be used in place of UL 1077 supplementary protectors. However, UL 1077 devices cannot be used to replace UL 489 breakers.
What size DIN rail is required for the FAZ-C3/3-NA, and what is its width?
It mounts on a standard 35mm DIN rail. The breaker has a module width of 17.5 mm per pole, making the total width 52.5 mm for this three-pole unit.
Can power be fed from either direction on the FAZ-C3/3-NA?
Yes, the FAZ-NA series allows power to be fed from either the line or load side without affecting the performance or safety of the breaker.
Does the FAZ-C3/3-NA feature a trip-free design?
Yes, it utilizes a trip-free mechanism. The breaker will trip under fault conditions even if the operating handle is physically held in the ON position.
How does the current-limiting design of the FAZ-C3/3-NA improve safety?
The current-limiting design interrupts fault currents within one half-cycle. This significantly reduces the peak let-through current and energy, minimizing potential damage to the downstream circuit and equipment.
