Product FAQs
8 answers
What does the D-curve trip characteristic mean for the FAZ-D16/2-NA?
The D-curve magnetic trip point operates at 10 to 20 times the rated current. This prevents nuisance tripping and makes the breaker suitable for applications with very high inrush currents, such as motors, transformers, and power supplies.
Is the Eaton FAZ-D16/2-NA approved for branch circuit protection?
Yes, this breaker is UL 489 listed for branch circuit protection. It can be used in place of UL 1077 supplementary protectors, but UL 1077 devices cannot be used to replace it.
What size DIN rail is required for mounting the FAZ-D16/2-NA?
This miniature circuit breaker mounts directly onto a standard 35mm DIN rail.
How much DIN rail space does the FAZ-D16/2-NA require?
The breaker has a module width of 17.5mm per pole. As a 2-pole device, it requires 35mm of total space on the DIN rail.
Does the FAZ-D16/2-NA require a specific feed direction?
No, power to this circuit breaker can be fed from either the line or the load side without affecting its performance or safety ratings.
How does the current limiting design of the FAZ-D16/2-NA protect downstream equipment?
The current limiting design interrupts fault currents within one half cycle. This fast short circuit interruption significantly reduces the peak let-through current and energy, minimizing potential damage to the circuit.
Will the FAZ-D16/2-NA still trip if the handle is held in the ON position?
Yes, the breaker features a trip-free design. It cannot be defeated by holding the handle in the ON position during an overcurrent or short circuit event.
Does the FAZ-D16/2-NA provide visual status indication?
Yes, it includes a color-coded indicator that provides immediate visual confirmation of the device status. Green indicates the breaker is OFF, and red indicates it is ON.
