Can the Eaton FDC3070 replace an older Westinghouse or Cutler-Hammer FDC3070?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse distribution equipment division. A modern Eaton FDC3070 is the direct, exact replacement for legacy Westinghouse and Cutler-Hammer breakers with the same catalog number.
What wire sizes are accepted by the lugs on this breaker?
The standard load-side lugs accept wire gauges from 14 AWG up to 1/0 AWG. The terminals are rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors.
What is the difference between the FD3070, HFD3070, and FDC3070 circuit breakers?
All three are 70A, 3-pole Series C F-Frame breakers, but they offer different interrupting capacities. The standard FD3070 is rated at 35kAIC at 480VAC, the high-interrupting HFD3070 is rated at 65kAIC at 480VAC, and the FDC3070 provides the highest current-limiting protection at 100kAIC at 480VAC.
How does the FDC3070 connect to the panel?
The FDC3070 is a bolt-on circuit breaker. It bolts directly to the busbars of compatible Eaton panelboards on the line side and features standard lugs on the load side for wire connections.
Is the FDC3070 rated for DC voltage applications?
Yes, in addition to its AC ratings, this breaker is rated for 250VDC with an interrupting capacity of 22kAIC.
Can I adjust the trip settings on the FDC3070?
No, this breaker features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit. The long-time and instantaneous trip functions are factory set and cannot be adjusted in the field.

Expedited Shipments
