Engineered for commercial and industrial applications, this 35-amp G-Frame breaker provides reliable long-time and instantaneous (LI) protection. The unit features a thermal-magnetic trip mechanism and is HACR rated for HVAC equipment. It installs into Eaton Series C panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers. Line and load lugs are included, accepting 14-1/0 AWG wire. With a 65kAIC rating at 240VAC and 22kAIC at 480VAC, it handles demanding fault current requirements.
What equipment is compatible with the Eaton GD3035?
This Series C G-frame breaker is designed for integration into Eaton motor control centers, switchboards, and compatible panelboards. Because it is a unit-mount breaker, it requires adequate enclosure space for independent mounting and cable routing.
What wire sizes are supported by the GD3035 terminals?
The factory-installed line and load lugs accept wire gauges from 14 AWG up to 1/0 AWG. These feed-thru terminals are suitable for both copper and aluminum conductors.
Can the GD3035 be reverse fed?
Yes, this breaker is suitable for reverse feed applications, allowing line power to be connected to either the top or bottom terminals without affecting the trip characteristics.
Is the GD3035 rated for direct current systems?
Yes, in addition to its AC ratings, this breaker is certified for DC applications up to 250VDC, providing a 10kAIC interrupting capacity for DC circuits.
Is the GD3035 HACR rated for HVAC applications?
Yes, this breaker carries an HACR rating, making it suitable for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment group motor loads.
What type of protection does the GD3035 trip unit provide?
It utilizes a fixed thermal-magnetic trip mechanism. This provides non-adjustable long-time (thermal) protection against overloads and instantaneous (magnetic) protection against short circuits.
Will the GD3035 replace a bolt-on GHB breaker?
No. While both are Series C G-frame breakers, the GD3035 is a unit-mount breaker with cable-in/cable-out lugs. It cannot directly replace a GHB or GDB breaker, which are designed to bolt directly onto a panelboard bus.
Is this breaker compatible with legacy Westinghouse systems?
Yes, Eaton manufactures the Series C line as a direct continuation of the legacy Cutler-Hammer and Westinghouse designs. The GD3035 will directly replace older Westinghouse GD breakers with the same 35A, 3-pole specifications.
