This K-Frame breaker is designed for use in Eaton Series C panelboards, switchboards, and dedicated engine generator enclosures.
What wire sizes do the standard lugs on the KG3400 accept?
The included line and load lugs accept either one 250 to 500 kcmil conductor or two 3/0 AWG to 250 kcmil conductors per phase. They are rated for both aluminum and copper wire.
Can this circuit breaker be reverse fed?
Yes, the KG3400 includes reverse feed capability. This allows for flexible installation with either top or bottom entry in your panel or cabinet.
Why is the KG3400 specified for engine generators instead of a standard K-Frame breaker?
The KG3400 features a specialized low magnetic pickup range that is approximately two to five times the continuous rating. This provides closer low-level short-circuit protection tailored for generator circuits, which typically have lower short-circuit capacity than utility power.
What are the standard K-Frame alternatives if I do not need an engine generator breaker?
If your application requires a standard molded case circuit breaker rather than a generator-specific model, Eaton offers the KD3400 rated at 35kAIC at 480V, the HKD3400 rated at 65kAIC at 480V, and the KDC3400 rated at 100kAIC at 480V in the same physical frame size.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
