Product FAQs
8 answers
What type of trip unit is installed on the Eaton NGH312035E?
This breaker features a factory-installed Digitrip 310+ electronic trip unit. The "35" in the catalog number indicates it provides Long-Time, Short-Time, and Ground Fault adjustable protection.
Does the NGH312035E come with wire lugs out of the box?
No. Like most Eaton NG-frame breakers, it ships with imperial tapped line and load conductor terminals. If you require standard aluminum or copper wire lugs for cable connections, you must purchase them separately. The TA1200NB1 lug kit is commonly used for 1200-amp applications.
Is this 1200-amp breaker rated for 80 percent or 100 percent continuous load?
The NGH312035E is a standard 80 percent rated circuit breaker. Continuous loads should not exceed 960 amps for safe and code-compliant operation.
Can the Eaton NGH312035E be reverse fed?
Yes. Eaton NG-frame Series G circuit breakers are suitable for reverse feed applications. The line and load connections can be swapped without affecting the electronic trip unit or interrupting capabilities.
Does the NGH312035E carry a HACR rating?
Yes. All Eaton NG-frame circuit breakers, including this model, are HACR rated for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
Does this breaker provide personnel or equipment ground fault protection?
The LSG function on the Digitrip 310+ trip unit provides equipment ground fault protection, not Class A personnel protection. It is designed to protect industrial machinery and distribution systems from damaging low-level ground faults.
Are auxiliary switches or shunt trips pre-installed on this breaker?
No. The NGH312035E does not come with factory-installed accessories. However, it accepts common field-fittable internal accessories such as shunt trips, undervoltage releases, and auxiliary switches.
Does the Series G NG-frame replace older Series C ND-frame breakers?
Yes. The Eaton Series G NG-frame is frequently used to upgrade older Series C ND-frame installations. However, physical dimensions, lug kits, and bus connections may differ, so confirm your enclosure has the required clearance and mounting hardware.
