The NA340 is a plug-on breaker designed exclusively for use in legacy Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) Stab-Lok load centers and panelboards that accommodate 3-pole, full-size breakers.
Are there safety concerns associated with Federal Pacific Stab-Lok breakers?
Yes. Original Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) Stab-Lok panels and breakers have a documented history of failing to trip during overloads or short circuits, which poses a severe fire hazard. Many licensed electricians and safety experts strongly recommend replacing the entire FPE panel with a modern, UL-listed load center rather than installing replacement breakers.
Is there a modern replacement available for the Federal Pacific 3P40?
Yes. Connecticut Electric manufactures new, aftermarket replacement breakers for FPE Stab-Lok panels under the UBI brand. The UBIF340N is a direct substitute for the original Federal Pacific NA340.
What is the difference between Federal Pacific NA and NC series breakers?
NA-series breakers, like the NA340, are full-size Stab-Lok breakers requiring one full inch of space per pole. NC-series breakers are half-size or thin breakers that take up only half an inch per pole. They are not interchangeable unless your panel has the physical space and specific busbar configuration to accept the wider NA frame.

Shipping
Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
