Product FAQs
7 answers
Which panelboards are compatible with the NEJ223150?
This breaker fits legacy Federal Pacific commercial panelboards designed for N-Frame devices. It will not fit into standard residential load centers or panels requiring plug-on connections.
What mounting hardware is needed to install this breaker?
Installation in legacy Federal Pacific panelboards often requires specific bus connection strap kits. Depending on whether you have a CDP or BDP series panel, you may need hardware kits like the NEJ1K or NEJ3K to properly secure the breaker to the busbar.
What are the conductor limits for the NEJ223150 lugs?
The standard lugs accept wire sizes from 4 AWG up to 300 kcmil. When installing, ensure the conductor material and size align with the 150A rating and that the lugs are torqued to the correct specification.
Are the trip settings on the NEJ223150 adjustable?
No. This breaker features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. The long-time overload protection and instantaneous short-circuit protection (LI) are factory set and cannot be modified in the field.
Is the NEJ223150 affected by the Federal Pacific Stab-Lok safety concerns?
No. The NEJ223150 is a commercial N-Frame molded case circuit breaker with a secure bolt-on connection. It is an entirely different design from the residential Stab-Lok plug-in breakers that are commonly associated with safety issues.
Can this 240V breaker be used on a 480V system?
No. The NEJ223150 has a strict maximum voltage rating of 240VAC. Using it in any capacity on a 480V system violates its safety listing and poses a severe arc flash and fire hazard.
How do I cross-reference a replacement for an older NEJ223150?
Because Federal Pacific is obsolete, direct replacements require matching the original NEJ frame, 150A rating, and bolt-on mounting style. Aftermarket adapters are generally not required if you source an exact N-Frame replacement.
