Engineered for commercial applications, the Federal Pacific NF631050 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated at 50 amps. It delivers reliable long-time and instantaneous trip functions for robust system protection. This bolt-on MCCB installs into legacy Federal Pacific NF panelboards. It serves as an exact replacement component to maintain existing infrastructure without requiring a complete system overhaul. Rated for up to 600VAC, it provides an interrupting capacity of 18kAIC at 480V.
Which panelboards are compatible with the NF631050?
This breaker is designed specifically for installation in legacy Federal Pacific NF series panelboards.
Is the Federal Pacific NF631050 still being manufactured?
Federal Pacific Electric is no longer in business. The NF631050 is a legacy molded case circuit breaker that is sourced through specialized electrical distributors to maintain existing infrastructure.
Are Federal Pacific NF series breakers affected by the Stab-Lok safety controversies?
The NF series consists of commercial and industrial molded case circuit breakers. These are entirely different from the residential Stab-Lok breakers that were the subject of historical safety investigations. However, any aging electrical infrastructure should be regularly inspected by a licensed professional.
Can the trip settings on the NF631050 be adjusted in the field?
No. This breaker features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit. The overload and short-circuit response thresholds are factory set and cannot be modified.
Can I use this 600V breaker in a 240V or 480V electrical system?
Yes. The 600VAC rating is a maximum operating voltage. It is fully compatible with lower voltage systems, including 240V and 480V applications. The breaker provides higher interrupting capacities at these lower voltages, such as 25kAIC at 240VAC and 18kAIC at 480VAC.
