Product FAQs
6 answersWhat is the adjustable magnetic trip range for the TECL36015?
The instantaneous magnetic trip is adjustable from 42A to 198A. This allows you to tune the pickup to the specific locked-rotor current of the motor to prevent nuisance tripping during startup.
Does this breaker provide thermal overload protection?
No. The TECL36015 is a Mag-Break Motor Circuit Protector (MCP) with an instantaneous magnetic-only trip. It must be used in conjunction with a separate motor starter or overload relay that provides thermal protection.
What applications is the TECL36015 designed for?
It is designed for dedicated motor control applications. It is typically installed in motor control centers (MCCs) or combination motor starters to provide short-circuit and ground-fault protection.
Can the TECL36015 be reverse fed?
Yes, this feed-thru circuit breaker is UL listed and suitable for reverse fed applications.
What is the difference between the TEC36015 and the TECL36015?
The TECL36015 includes a current limiter that increases the interrupting capacity to 100kAIC at 480V, whereas the standard TEC36015 has a lower short-circuit rating.
What breaker frame family does the TECL36015 belong to?
It is part of the General Electric E-150 line of molded case circuit breakers, specifically utilizing the TECL frame for current-limiting motor circuit protection.
