Designed for commercial power distribution, the GE TEF124020 is a 20A, two-pole molded case circuit breaker. It provides dependable thermal-magnetic protection for systems up to 480VAC, featuring a common trip bar and a quick-make/quick-break mechanism. This E-Frame breaker bolts securely into GE A-Series panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers. As a legacy component, it is replaced by the TED124020 model. Is the TEF124020 rated for direct current (DC) applications?
Yes, in addition to its AC ratings, this breaker is rated for use in DC circuits up to 250VDC with a 10kAIC interrupting capacity.
What wire sizes are supported by the lugs on the TEF124020?
The terminals accept 14 to 3 AWG copper (Cu) conductors or 12 to 1 AWG aluminum (Al) conductors.
Has the GE TEF series been discontinued?
Yes, following ABB's acquisition of GE Industrial Solutions, legacy GE E-Frame breakers are being replaced by the ABB Tmax XT series. ABB offers retrofit kits to install Tmax XT breakers into existing GE panelboards and switchboards.
Does this breaker snap into place or bolt to the bus?
The TEF124020 is a bolt-on molded case circuit breaker. It must be bolted directly to the busbar and is not compatible with plug-on or DIN rail mounting systems.
How does the LI trip function on this breaker operate?
The fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit provides Long-Time (L) and Instantaneous (I) protection. The thermal component responds to sustained overloads by heating up and tripping, while the magnetic component trips instantly when it detects a high-current short circuit.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
