The TEYF220 is a bolt-on breaker specifically designed for GE A-Series lighting panelboards. It is not compatible with standard Q-Line residential load centers that require plug-in THQL breakers.
What is the difference between the GE TEY220 and the TEYF220?
Both are 20A, 2-pole breakers for GE A-Series panels, but they differ in short circuit protection. The TEYF220 has a higher interrupting rating of 18kAIC at 480Y/277VAC, whereas the standard TEY220 is rated at 14kAIC. The TEYF220 can safely replace a TEY220 where higher fault protection is required.
Is the TEYF220 suitable for switching commercial lighting loads?
Yes, the TEYF220 carries SWD (Switching Duty) and HID (High-Intensity Discharge) ratings, meaning it is tested and approved to handle the inrush currents associated with commercial lighting circuits. It is also HACR rated for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
Can the TEYF220 be used outside of a panelboard?
Yes, while it is primarily designed to bolt directly onto the bus of a GE A-Series panelboard, it can be used in standalone applications by utilizing a TEY3B mounting base for lug-to-lug connections.
How much panel space does the TEYF220 require?
The TEYF frame is one inch wide per pole. As a 2-pole breaker, the TEYF220 requires two inches of space in a compatible GE A-Series panelboard.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
