Product FAQs

8 answers
Is the THQB1120GFT a direct replacement for the older THQB1120GF breaker?

Yes. The THQB1120GFT is the direct manufacturer upgrade for the discontinued THQB1120GF, featuring an added automatic self-test function to meet updated UL 943 safety standards.

Can I install this bolt-on breaker in a GE Powermark Gold residential load center?

No. Powermark load centers require THQL series plug-on breakers. The THQB1120GFT is a bolt-on breaker designed strictly for GE A-Series panelboards and AQ lighting panels.

What is the ground-fault trip threshold for this breaker?

This breaker provides Class A personnel protection with a 5mA ground-fault trip threshold. It is not an Equipment Protection Device (EPD), which would typically feature a 30mA threshold.

How do I wire the neutral connection for this GFCI breaker?

You must connect the coiled white pigtail wire directly to the neutral bus bar in the panelboard. The neutral wire from your dedicated 120V branch circuit must then be terminated at the designated load neutral lug on the breaker itself.

Can I use this GFCI breaker for switching 120V fluorescent lighting loads?

Yes. GE THQB series 15A and 20A single-pole breakers are SWD (Switching Duty) rated, meaning they can be safely used as switches for standard fluorescent lighting circuits.

Does this breaker come with the necessary bolt-on hardware?

Yes, it includes the captive mounting screw required to securely bolt the breaker terminal to the panelboard bus.

What does the self-test feature on this GFCI breaker do?

The self-test function automatically performs routine internal diagnostics to ensure the ground-fault detection circuitry remains functional. This provides continuous personnel protection without relying solely on manual push-button testing.

Is the THQB1120GFT suitable for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment?

Yes. Like most GE Q-Line miniature circuit breakers, this model is HACR rated, making it suitable for protecting branch circuits that supply motorized HVAC equipment.
