This bolt-on breaker is designed exclusively for GE A-Series and ReliaGear panelboards that accept THQB or Q-Line bolt-on breakers. It cannot be used in standard residential load centers that require plug-on THQL breakers.
GFEP (Ground Fault Equipment Protection) breakers, like the THQB1130GFEP, have a 30mA trip threshold designed to protect machinery, heat trace cables, and equipment from electrical damage. Standard Class A GFCI breakers have a 5mA threshold intended for personnel shock protection.
The THQB1130GFEP features a pigtail neutral wire that must be connected directly to the panel neutral bus bar to ensure the ground fault sensing circuitry functions correctly.
No. ABB acquired GE Industrial Solutions, so this breaker may arrive with either ABB or GE branding. The form, fit, function, and UL listings remain identical regardless of the logo on the label.
No. The THQB1130GFEP is only UL listed for use in compatible GE or ABB panelboards. Mixing breaker brands in commercial panels violates UL listings and electrical codes.
GFEP breakers are commonly required for outdoor heat trace systems, snow melting equipment, and dedicated industrial machinery where normal operational leakage current might cause nuisance tripping on a standard 5mA GFCI breaker.
