This unit-mount PowerPacT P-frame breaker is intended for installation in Square D QED switchboards, Model 6 Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and properly sized industrial enclosures.
What are the lug wire size and torque requirements for the PGL36080?
The factory-installed line and load lugs accept three 3/0 AWG to 500 kcmil aluminum or copper conductors per phase. The required tightening torque for these main lug connections is 442.5 lb-in (50 N.m).
Is the PGL36080 rated for 100% continuous operation?
No, this is a standard 80% rated circuit breaker. Continuous loads must not exceed 80% of its 800A nameplate rating, which equals a maximum continuous draw of 640 amps.
Is the electronic trip unit on this breaker field-interchangeable?
No. The PGL36080 features a factory-installed, basic ET 1.0I solid-state trip unit. Unlike P-frame models equipped with Micrologic trip units, this basic ET 1.0I unit cannot be swapped or upgraded in the field.
Can I use this breaker for applications requiring ground fault protection or zone-selective interlocking (ZSI)?
No. The included ET 1.0I trip unit only provides Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) protection. For advanced features like ground fault protection or ZSI, you must select a PowerPacT P-frame model equipped with a Micrologic 5.0 or 6.0 trip unit.
How does the PGL36080 differ from a PJL36080 or PLL36080?
The second letter in the part number indicates the interrupting capacity. The PGL is the standard G-tier model. If your system requires a higher fault current rating, you must source the J-tier (PJL, 65 kAIC at 480V) or L-tier (PLL, 100 kAIC at 480V) alternatives.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
