Built for commercial applications, the Square D QHB225 is a 25-amp, two-pole miniature circuit breaker designed for severe short circuits. With a 65 kAIC rating at 120/240VAC, it provides superior thermal-magnetic protection in high-demand environments. This breaker mounts into Square D NQ panelboards, utilizing a bolt-on mechanism to ensure a stable connection. To streamline maintenance, the integrated Visi-Trip window instantly identifies tripped circuits with a bright red indicator.

Product FAQs
6 answers
Which panelboards accept the QHB225 circuit breaker?
The QHB225 is a bolt-on breaker designed specifically for installation in Square D NQ series panelboards. Note that QHB breakers were not UL tested or approved for use in older legacy NQOB panelboard interiors.
Can I use the QHB225 as a direct replacement for a standard QOB225?
Yes, the QHB225 shares the same physical dimensions and bolt-on mounting as the QOB225. The primary difference is the interrupting rating. The QHB225 is a high-interrupting model rated for 65kA at 120/240VAC, making it suitable for commercial applications requiring higher fault current protection than the standard 10kA QOB225.
What is the recommended terminal torque for the QHB225?
The pressure plate terminals on this breaker accept 14 to 8 AWG copper or aluminum wire. The manufacturer specified tightening torque for these connections is 40.7 lb-in (4.6 N.m).
How does the thermal-magnetic trip mechanism operate on the QHB225?
This breaker features a fixed LI (Long-Time and Instantaneous) trip curve. The thermal component provides the Long-Time function to protect against sustained overloads, while the magnetic component provides the Instantaneous function to trip the breaker immediately during severe short circuits.
Does the QHB225 include a visual trip indicator?
Yes, as part of the QO product family, the QHB225 features a Visi-Trip indicator. When a fault causes the breaker to trip, the handle moves to a center position and a red flag appears in the indicator window, allowing maintenance personnel to quickly identify the tripped circuit.
Is the QHB225 suitable for HVAC applications?
Yes, this breaker is HACR rated, meaning it is approved for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment that requires group installation and inverse time circuit protection.
