Product FAQs
8 answers
What panelboards are compatible with the Siemens B325HH?
This bolt-on circuit breaker is designed specifically for installation in Siemens P1, P2, and P3 series panelboards.
Can the B325HH be installed in a standard residential load center?
No. The B325HH features a bolt-on mounting design intended for commercial and industrial panelboards. It will not fit in standard plug-on residential load centers.
How does the B325HH differ from standard BL series breakers?
The B325HH is the high-interrupting HBL version of the 25A, 3-pole BL family. While standard BL breakers typically offer a 10 kAIC rating, the B325HH provides a 65 kAIC rating at 240 VAC for systems with higher available fault currents.
What type of wire is approved for the B325HH terminals?
The factory-installed lugs are rated for both copper and aluminum conductors. They accept 10 to 8 AWG copper wire or 10 to 6 AWG aluminum wire.
Is the Siemens B325HH suitable for HVAC equipment?
Yes, this HBL type breaker is HACR rated, making it approved for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration applications.
Can the B325HH replace older ITE circuit breakers?
Yes. Siemens acquired ITE, and the B325HH serves as a direct, authentic replacement for legacy ITE HBL series breakers with matching specifications.
What safety certifications does the B325HH carry?
This molded case circuit breaker is UL 489 certified for safety and performance. It is also approved under UL 50 and UL 67 standards for panelboard applications.
How does the thermal-magnetic trip mechanism function on the B325HH?
The breaker utilizes a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit with Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) functions. The thermal component responds to prolonged overloads, while the magnetic component provides immediate tripping during short circuits.
