Product FAQs
6 answers
Which panelboards accept the BQ2B070 circuit breaker?
This bolt-on breaker is designed exclusively for Siemens P1, P2, and P3 commercial panelboards. It cannot be installed in standard residential Siemens load centers, which require plug-on QP series breakers.
Is there a higher interrupting rating version of the BQ2B070 available?
Yes. If your system requires a higher short-circuit rating than 10kAIC, the BQ2B070H (BQH type) offers 22kAIC, and the HB2B070 (HBQ type) offers 65kAIC at 120/240VAC.
What is the difference between the Siemens BQ2B070 and a BQD series breaker?
While both are 1-inch per pole molded case circuit breakers, the BQ2B070 is rated for 120/240VAC applications. The BQD series is rated for up to 480Y/277VAC and is commonly used in OEM equipment where DIN rail or direct surface mounting is required.
Is the Siemens BQ2B070 HACR rated?
Yes, this breaker is HACR rated, making it suitable for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment that requires this specific protection.
Can the BQ2B070 be used as a Switching Duty (SWD) breaker?
No. The SWD rating for switching fluorescent lighting loads only applies to 15A and 20A single-pole breakers. A 70A breaker like the BQ2B070 does not carry an SWD rating.
Are the trip settings on the BQ2B070 adjustable?
No. The BQ2B070 features a thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed thermal and fixed magnetic settings for long-time and instantaneous protection.
