Product FAQs

6 answers
Which panelboards are compatible with the Siemens BQ2B110 circuit breaker?

The BQ2B110 is a bolt-on circuit breaker designed for use in Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards. It is not compatible with standard plug-on residential load centers.

Can the Siemens BQ2B110 replace older ITE or Gould circuit breakers?

Yes, Siemens acquired ITE and Gould. The BQ2B110 serves as a direct, code-compliant replacement for legacy ITE and Gould BQ frame 110-amp, 2-pole bolt-on breakers.

How does the BQ2B110 connect to the panelboard bus?

This breaker features a bolt-on connection to the panelboard bus. This provides a secure, high-retention fit that is ideal for commercial and industrial applications where vibration or thermal cycling may occur.

Is the Siemens BQ2B110 suitable for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment?

Yes, this breaker is HACR rated, making it suitable for protecting group motor applications in HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Does the BQ2B110 feature a common trip mechanism?

Yes, as a 2-pole breaker, it utilizes an internal common trip mechanism to ensure both poles open simultaneously during an overcurrent or short-circuit event, preventing single-phasing of connected 240V loads.

What type of trip unit does the BQ2B110 use?

It features a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit, providing both long-time overload protection and instantaneous short-circuit protection.
