Part of the SENTRON QR series, the Siemens HQR22B150H provides robust 100kAIC protection for commercial and industrial electrical systems. This two-pole, 150-amp MCCB features a bolt-on mounting design and fixed thermal-magnetic trip units for reliable long-time and instantaneous (LI) defense. It serves as an exact form-factor replacement for legacy QJ frame breakers, ensuring easy retrofits. Installs into Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards, switchboards, and meter centers.
What panelboards are compatible with the Siemens HQR22B150H?
This 150A bolt-on breaker is designed for installation in Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards, as well as compatible Siemens switchboards and meter centers.
Can the HQR22B150H replace older QJ frame circuit breakers?
Yes, the Siemens QR series is the direct successor to the legacy QJ frame. The HQR22B150H shares the exact same form factor and mounting footprint as older QJ breakers, making it a seamless drop-in replacement for panel retrofits.
What is the difference between the QR22B150, QRH22B150, and HQR22B150H?
These breakers share the same physical dimensions and 150A rating but differ in their interrupting capacity at 240VAC. The QR22B150 is rated for 10kAIC, the QRH22B150 for 25kAIC, and the HQR22B150H offers the highest protection level at 100kAIC.
Are internal accessories field-installable on the HQR22B150H?
Yes. Unlike the legacy QJ frames that required factory installation, the Siemens QR series features modular accessory pockets. This allows licensed electricians to field-install internal accessories like shunt trips and auxiliary switches directly on the job site.
What wire sizes are accepted by the standard lugs on the HQR22B150H?
The factory-installed lugs accommodate copper conductors ranging from 3 AWG to 300 kcmil, and aluminum conductors from 6 AWG to 350 kcmil. Always verify proper torque specifications based on the wire size used during installation.
Does the HQR22B150H require a specific mounting hardware kit?
When installing this breaker into Siemens P1, P2, or P3 panelboards, you will need the appropriate strap kit or mounting hardware specific to your panel type, such as a main or subfeed breaker mounting kit.
How do I manually test the mechanical trip function on this breaker?
The HQR22B150H features a built-in push-to-trip button on the front face. Pressing this button manually exercises the mechanical linkage to ensure the trip mechanism is operating correctly.
