Product FAQs
6 answers
What enclosures are compatible with the LD62B600 circuit breaker?
This LD frame breaker can be installed in Siemens Sentron enclosures, including the NEMA 1 rated LD6N1 for indoor use and the NEMA 3R rated LD6N3R for outdoor applications. It is also designed for use in Siemens Sentron panelboards (Type S1, S2, SE) and switchboards.
What is the recommended lug torque for the standard terminals on this breaker?
The standard TA2K500 lugs, which accept two 3/0 AWG to 500 kcmil copper or aluminum conductors per phase, require a tightening torque of 375 in-lbs.
Can the LD62B600 be reverse fed?
Yes. Siemens thermal magnetic molded case circuit breakers without interchangeable trip units are suitable for reverse feed applications in accordance with UL 489 standards.
What does the LI trip function indicate on this breaker?
The LI designation means the breaker features a thermal magnetic trip unit with Long-Time (L) and Instantaneous (I) protection. The thermal element provides fixed overload protection, while the magnetic element offers adjustable short-circuit protection.
What is the difference between the LD62B600 and the HLD62B600?
The LD62B600 is the standard interrupting capacity version. The HLD62B600 is the high interrupting capacity version for applications requiring a higher fault current rating. Both share the same physical dimensions and LD frame footprint.
Is the LD62B600 suitable for direct current systems?
Yes, this breaker is rated for use on direct current systems up to 250VDC, where it provides an interrupting capacity of 30kA. When applying a two pole breaker on 250VDC systems, one pole is typically connected to each leg of the supply circuit.
