Delivering high-capacity overcurrent protection, the Siemens LGG3B050L is a 50A, 3-pole MCCB engineered for demanding industrial applications. It provides reliable power distribution for commercial switchboards. This GB/GG frame breaker features unit mounting with DIN rail compatibility and accepts 8-1/0 AWG wire. It is officially replaced by the 3VA5150-6EC31-0AA0. Equipped with a thermal-magnetic LI trip unit, it offers adjustable instantaneous protection and a 65kAIC rating at 480VAC.
Yes, this unit-mount breaker is compatible with standard DIN rail installations, as well as traditional screw mounting in industrial control panels and switchboards.
Is there a newer replacement for the LGG3B050L circuit breaker?
Yes, Siemens has officially replaced the LGG3B050L with the 3VA5150-6EC31-0AA0 molded case circuit breaker as part of their transition to the newer 3VA series.
Does the LGG3B050L come with line and load lugs?
Yes, this feed-thru breaker includes factory-installed lugs on both the line and load sides. They accept 8 to 1/0 AWG copper or 8 to 2/0 AWG aluminum wire.
How does the adjustable magnetic trip function on the LGG3B050L work?
While the thermal protection for overloads is fixed at 50 amps, the adjustable magnetic trip allows you to fine-tune the instantaneous short-circuit pickup level. This is useful for coordinating with downstream loads like motors that have high inrush currents.
What enclosures and panels are compatible with the LGG3B050L?
This GB/GG frame breaker is designed for use in Siemens enclosures, industrial control panels, and commercial switchboards requiring high-capacity overcurrent protection.
What safety standards does the LGG3B050L comply with?
This breaker is UL 489 listed for use in low-voltage power distribution systems, ensuring it meets strict safety requirements for molded case circuit breakers.
Is the LGG3B050L rated for direct current (DC) systems?
Yes, in addition to its AC ratings, this breaker is rated for 125VDC and 250VDC applications, providing a 14kA interrupting capacity for DC power systems.
What does the feed-thru connection type mean for installation?
A feed-thru connection means the breaker does not plug onto a panelboard busbar. Instead, it is unit mounted and uses wire lugs on both the line (incoming) and load (outgoing) sides to complete the circuit.
