This unit-mount breaker is engineered for Siemens Sentron P4 and P5 panelboards, as well as SB1, SB2, and SB3 switchboards. It bolts directly to the chassis and is not compatible with standard plug-in load centers.
Which lug kit is included with the LMD63B600?
The breaker comes standard with the TA3K500 lug kit installed on both the line and load sides. These lugs accept up to three 1/0 AWG to 500 kcmil copper or aluminum conductors per phase.
Is there a higher interrupting capacity alternative to the LMD63B600?
Yes. If your system requires a higher fault current rating, the HLMD63B600 is the high-interrupting equivalent. It provides 65kA at 480VAC, compared to the 50kA rating of the standard LMD63B600.
Can the trip unit be replaced without removing the breaker frame?
Yes. The LMD63B600 features an interchangeable trip unit design. This allows electricians to swap or upgrade the thermal-magnetic trip mechanism in the field without unbolting the entire frame from the panelboard.
How do you adjust the trip settings on this breaker?
The thermal-magnetic trip unit has fixed thermal protection for long-time overloads. However, it includes an adjustable magnetic dial on the face of the breaker to set the instantaneous short-circuit pickup level based on your load requirements.
Does the LMD63B600 include equipment ground fault protection?
No. This breaker features an LI (Long-Time, Instantaneous) trip function. It does not have integral ground fault capabilities.
What does the B in the LMD63B600 catalog number indicate?
The B signifies that this is a complete, assembled circuit breaker. It includes the LMD frame, the interchangeable trip unit, and the standard line and load lugs.
